CLEVELAND — A Cleveland murder suspect attempted to evade U.S. Marshals by jumping out of a third story window.
Calvin Pittman Jr., 26, was wanted by Cleveland police for aggravated murder.
U.S. Marshals said that Pittman and another man allegedly shot and killed Albert Crenshaw, 44, while he was sitting in the driver seat of a vehicle near the 11000 block of Fortune Avenue on April 10.
Marshals arrested Pittman at an address near the 5000 block of Denison Avenue, according to a press release.
During the arrest attempt, Pittman jumped out of a third story window in an attempt to flee from police, according to U.S. Marshals.
Pittman sustained minor injuries from his fall and was taken to MetroHealth Hospital after his arrest.
“The fugitive took desperate actions to avoid being arrested tonight. Luckily, neither he nor any members of our fugitive task force were seriously injured as a result. Our task force members had a good perimeter set up on the building which ultimately eliminated Pittman’s possibility of escaping," U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said.
Anyone with information about any wanted fugitives can call the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-492-6833.
