No bomb found after Cleveland police deploy bomb squad, robot, K-9

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police responded to Puritas Avenue and West 150th Street Tuesday morning after a man said he had a bomb, officials said. No bomb was found and the man was taken to a nearby hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

At about 11:08 a.m., officers responded to the intersection and diverted traffic for safety purposes, a Cleveland police officials said. The man was located, the canine unit responded and no explosives were found.

An News 5 crew at the scene said the Cleveland Police Bomb Squad responded and deployed the bomb robot. An officer in an bomb suit was also deployed and checked out a bag that was scene on the street. It was determined that the bag was full of clothes and other items, but had no bomb.
