An East Cleveland police officer who was off duty on Friday night was carjacked in Cleveland.
According to Cleveland police, the officer was in the 3800 block of East 75th Street when an unknown person carjacked the officer and drove off with his vehicle.
The officer exchanged gunfire with the robber during the incident, authorities said.
The officer's car was found later after it was abandoned, authorities said.
East Cleveland police confirmed Saturday morning that the off-duty officer was working security at the time of the carjacking.
No arrests have been made. Authorities didn't provide a description of the carjacker.
