One dead, one injured in shooting on Cleveland's East Side

Cleveland Police are investigating a fatal shooting on the East Side. 

The shooting occurred on the 10000 block of Woodland Avenue at 10 am on Thursday. 

Police said a 33-year-old man told them that he was entering the apartments on Morris Black Place when a 27-year-old man approached him and tried to rob him with a gun. 

The two men fought over the gun and it fired multiple times. Both men ended up with gunshot wounds. 

The 33-year-old remained at the apartments and the 27-year-old ran a short distance before collapsing in a nearby courtyard. 

They were both transported to University Hospital, where the 27-year-old was pronounced dead.
