Drunk driving, drugs and speeding caused a crash that left one woman dead and two others seriously injured.

Cleveland police said, around 12:10 a.m. Sunday, 22-year-old Erica A. Hughes was speeding in her 2005 Chevrolet Malibu on St. Clair Avenue near Woodworth Avenue when she crossed the double yellow line and collided head-on with 23-year-old Shanelle A. Payne's 2012 Dodge Journey.

Hughes' front seat passenger, Stephanie M. Green, 21, died in the crash. Hughes and Payne both suffered serious injuries.

Police said alcohol and drugs were both part of the cause of the crash.

Cleveland police have yet to arrest Hughes since she is awaiting surgery for her injuries.
