Posted

A 27-year-old man was shot 14 times outside a Cleveland nightclub early Thursday.

Cleveland police were called to the Million Dollar Club on Clark Avenue around 2 a.m. for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived witnesses said the victim had already left the scene. The bar patrons told officers that they heard the shots but didn't actually see the shooting take place.

About 10 shell casings were found at the scene. newsnet5.com's overnight newstracker Mike Vielhaber also saw a car in the area riddled with bullets.

While officers were on the scene, MetroHealth Medical Center reported that a shooting victim had been dropped off at the hospital.

Police talked to the victim—27-year-old Rayshawnn McKinley—who said he was walking near the bar when an unknown person approached him and asked him for a "light."

McKinley said he ran away but was shot multiple times before he got to the sidewalk. According to police, he was shot 14 times in the buttocks, legs and groin area. He told police he did not know why he was shot or who shot him.

Cleveland police continue to investigate.
