CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are searching for a white Jeep they believe may be involved in a homicide that occurred on Cleveland’s East Side Tuesday night.
Officers responded to the 17000 block of South Miles Road in Cleveland's Lee-Miles neighborhood around 11:14 p.m. for reports that a man had been shot, police said.
Once on scene, police found a 20-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers provided first aid until EMS arrived and took the man to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to police. The man has been identified as Justin Powell, of Cleveland.
Initial investigations show that the victim was seen walking with an unknown person when the shots were fired. An unknown man was seen leaving the scene and entering a white Jeep that immediately fled the scene, police said.
Officers found a loaded handgun under the victim.
The shooting is currently under investigation.
