CLEVELAND — Over two years after it was initially announced, it appears that a restaurant themed after the country trio Rascal Flatts will not be coming to the Flats East Bank after all.
The official Rascal Flatts Twitter account posted the following tweet last week:
— Rascal Flatts (@rascalflatts) January 11, 2019
The tweet confirms that the country group licensed the use of their name to a restaurant developer several years ago but was never involved in the development or ownership of the restaurants.
"Because we know you have been looking forward to enjoying our themed restaurants, we wanted to let you know that this project is no longer happening," the tweet states. "We ended the agreement and do not have a business relationship with the developer."
A Rascal Flatts restaurant in Cleveland was initially announced back in March of 2016. It was announced to open that year and was to be located on the Flats East Bank between Crop’s On Air Studio and Beerhead Bar and Eatery.

That restaurant obviously did not open in 2016, or any year since, and now it appears that Rascal Flatts has severed ties with the group responsible for developing the restaurant in Cleveland and other U.S. cities.
