CLEVELAND — Students at Scranton Elementary School raised enough money to send a local veteran on an honor flight to Washington D.C.

They raised $250 to sponsor veteran Joe Benedict's flight to Washington D.C.

Benedict presented the school with an American flag and handed each 8th-grader a small flag that had, at one point, flown over the grave of a veteran in a local cemetery.

An honor flight helps veterans go to Washington D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials.
