SWAT standoff in South Euclid related to shooting death of Beachwood doctor

Police officers in South Euclid serving a search warrant related to the shooting death of a Beachwood doctor were met with rifle fire on Friday night, according to police.

It's still unknown exactly how it all relates to the death of Dr. Richard Warn, who was discovered shot to death in his home on Brentwood Road in Beachwood on Thursday.

SWAT, police and ambulances are currently on the scene.

Police say they have evacuated most people around the area on Elmwood Avenue to a nearby community center.

Police believe there may be more than one person in the house, and they are trying to communicate with that individual or those persons.

They also say they will be cutting off the electricity for the entire block.

This is a developing story.
