Donations from a community softball fundraiser will send a group of teens on a college tour. The tournament took place at the Boys and Girls Club, last July.

Assistant Club Director, Shanelle Moon organized the fundraiser.

"They don't travel outside their neighborhoods, so all they know is the things they see on a daily basis," said Moon. "I'm an example myself. A lot of them come from the same backgrounds that I came from.”

Moon will take the teens to Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo.

"I didn't know if I wanted to go to college until I started coming to the boys and girls club,” student Cynquana James said. "I will be the first person in my family to go to college. I've got older and younger siblings but none of them thought about going to college, but I was the first one to say, "oh, I do want to go to college to change something."

Students will take the tour Nov. 3.
