One of the first restaurants to open its doors as part of the Flats East Bank redevelopment project is shutting down for good.
The owner of The Willeyville announced on Facebook Thursday that he is 'deeply saddened' to announce the closure of the restaurant, named after Cleveland's first mayor.
The Willeyville opened in the summer of 2013 as one of the first restaurants in the $750 million redevelopment project.
Despite this closure, The Flats is expecting some other restaurants to open in the next year.
In March, country trio Rascal Flatts announced its plans to build a restaurant in the area.
Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is also coming soon.
