Cleveland police were called to the west side Monday morning after a man was shot and killed by his coworker as part of an ongoing dispute.

The incident happened in the 4400 block of W. 149th Street. When police got on scene they learned that the victim, Jonathan Benitez Manchuca, 23, and the suspect, Edwin Manuel Figueroa, 34, were coworkers at US Cotton LLC. The victim was taken to Metro Health by EMS where he was pronounced dead.

On Monday, the suspect reportedly asked the victim to fight and the two took the fight off of work grounds. Once at the fight location on W. 149th, the suspect got out of his car, confronted the victim and shot him several times before driving away, according to reports.

Police say the suspect lives in Lorain and was taken into custody by Lorain police.

Members of the homicide unit and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene. The incident is still being investigated.
