Woman dies in shooting on East 49th Street in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — A woman was shot and killed in Cleveland’s Central neighborhood on Tuesday morning, according to a spokesperson for the Cleveland Police Department.

Officers responded at around 12:50 a.m. to the 2500 block of East 49th Street for a shooting. Officers located a woman with a gunshot wound to the chest.

EMS responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She was later identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office as Kim Shurn, age 55.

A spokesperson for the department said detectives canvassed the area for witnesses but did not locate any witnesses.
