An Elyria burglary victim said he couldn't believe his eyes after he happened to run into another man wearing his stolen valuables, less than a day after they were taken from the victim's home.
The victim, too afraid to be identified, told News 5 he and his wife spotted the suspect walking along West River Road, wearing his stolen sweatshirt, his watch and a pair of custom athletic shoes, given to him by his wife as a Christmas gift.
The victim quickly dialed 911.
Police responded quickly and arrested 30-year-old Jeremy R. Krugman, charging him with receiving stolen property.
Investigators said Krugman also had an outstanding arrest warrant with the Lorain County Sheriff's Department on another case.
The victim said he was stunned he and his wife ran into the suspect, just by chance.
"Like I said disbelief," said the victim. "I mean coincidental? I mean it's just unbelievable."
