CLEVELAND — Hungry Clevelanders sick of instant dinners, burgers and stews can save money while supporting local restaurants with a sale on gift certificates offered by the Cleveland Independents on Thursday.

During the sale, $50 gift certificates will be sold for $35 and $25 certificates are selling for $17.50. This year, all local restaurants will honor the certificates for both dine-in and take-out options.

The Cleveland Independents say it’s crucial to visit their site early on Thursday, as restaurants typically sell out of discount gift certificates early, and the organization is anticipating that this quarter’s sale will exceed previous ones.

Certificates have a five-year expiration, and while some restrictions apply, the Cleveland Independents say they are not only a great excuse to get a fine meal from a local establishment, they also make terrific holiday gifts.

Visit the Cleveland Independents site to see a list of participating local restaurants and log on Thursday morning before the limited supply of certificates is sold out.
