DENMARK TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Denmark Township, located in Ashtabula County, Wednesday evening, according to the Ashtabula Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just after 5:30 p.m. on State Route 193 at the intersection of South Denmark Road.

A preliminary investigation reveals that a 21-year-old man from Jefferson, Ohio was traveling northbound on SR 193 in a 2013 Ford F-150 when a Ford Escape, driven by Minda Shun,56, of Ada, was traveling eastbound on South Denmark Road when it failed to stop at the intersection, striking the Ford F-150.

Shun and the passenger in the Ford Escape, Judith Huggins, 77 of Dorset, Ohio, were both killed in the crash.

Shun was not wearing her seatbelt and Huggins, who was the front-seat passenger, was wearing her seatbelt.

Troopers said the 21-year-old man driving the Ford F-150 was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
