Cleveland police are investigating after a 5-year-old boy was struck during a hit-skip on the city's east side Monday morning.

Police said the hit-skip happened around 8:42 a.m. in the area of East 55th Street and Chester Avenue.

Authorities said the vehicle that left the scene was a white Nissan with damage to the driver-side mirror.

The child was taken to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital with minor injuries, according to police.
