55-year-old woman found dead in Parma, brother taken into custody in New York

A 54-year-old man is in custody after his 55-year-old sister was found dead in a Parma home Friday morning. 

It happened at a home in the 2400 block of Torrington Avenue.

Around 6:46 a.m., Parma police received a 911 call from a woman who reported that she went into the home and found her sister dead. 

Officers responded and found 55-year-old Vicky Zabala dead. 

Investigators determined that 54-year-old Mark Shankle was a possible suspect in her death. 

Police were able to track Shankle to a location in Buffalo, New York where he was taken into custody by the Buffalo Police Department.

He was charged with aggravated murder.
