David Schafer says the images of men carrying torches and chanting hate speech sickens him. He serves as Managing Director of Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage.

"As a Jew and a human being, it’s painful,” said Schafer. "It was painful to watch the numbers of people that think like that. We have to stand up and say: ‘not in our neighborhood, not in our country.’"

Neo-Nazi regalia reminded him of a time he wants to keep in the past. The Ku Klux Klan had the same impact on Tuwan Spencer.

"I think it was wrong. I think most of the nation feels that way,” said Spencer. “It’s a real heavy load to carry, but that’s why we have to do it together. History definitely repeats itself. The only thing that seems to have changed is the date. Growing up, my mom always told me: you're going to have to work harder than everybody in the room."

Both men say they were disappointed by President Trump’s response; they felt it should have come sooner.

"I want my president to be a moral leader, and the president is not setting a moral high bar,” said Schafer.
