Authorities respond to possible standoff in Lyndhurst

LYNDHURST, Ohio — Authorities were called to the scene of a Lyndhurst residence where a man barricaded himself inside, according to the Lyndhurst Police Department.

Around 1:51 a.m., officers received reports that several shots had been fired in the 1100 block of Gordon Road and nearby officers heard the shots as well, police said.

Once on scene, officers made brief contact with a man at the residence, who then barricaded himself inside, according to police.

A woman inside the residence made her way out unharmed, police said.

The man was believed to be the only person inside the residence, but officers struggled to make contact with him, according to police.

Police, SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams were called to the scene, but have since cleared the scene, police said.
