WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — Award-winning brewmaster resigned from the Willoughby Brewing Co.

Rick Seibt announced Monday on Facebook that he resigned from his position at the brewery.

"Eight great years and I’m happy to say I think I’ll be leaving the brewery side in better shape than I found it. I wish I could announce a great new hopportunity but there is nothing on horizon," Seibt wrote on Facebook.

Seibt won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup in 2014 for his crowd favorite Peanut Butter Cup Coffee Porter and a bronze in 2016 for Nut Smasher, according to Ohio.com.

"Brewing is my passion. I'll never stop," said Seibt, who declined to comment any further on why he was leaving his longtime position at the brewery.
