Bedford Heights police looking for ex-boyfriend who allegedly shot, killed woman's boyfriend

BEDFORD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Bedford Heights police are looking for a suspect identified in a fatal shooting that happened Sunday in Bedford Heights. According to the police report, a woman called to say her ex-boyfriend shot her boyfriend.

Authorities said the suspect, Phillip Michael Scott is 6 feet, 2 inches tall and has brown eyes and is bald. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting happened around 7 a.m. in the 22000 block of Marberry Commons Road.

Police responded after receiving a 911 call about a shooting. When officers arrived, they found the victim, 33-year-old Carlos Mitchell lying on the living room floor with multiple gunshot wounds.

Mitchell was transported to MetroHealth Medical center and pronounced dead.

Scott was identified by witnesses at the scene, according to police. He may be driving a dark blue Hyundai Elantra with the license plate HOA 4212.
