LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- A car plowed into a Lakewood home early Friday morning, hitting a gas line and forcing evacuations.
It happened at 2:26 a.m. on the corner of Wyandotte and Franklin when a vehicle struck the home.
A gas line was ruptured as a result of the crash, and a number of surrounding homes were evacuated as a precaution.
Police say there is no indication that alcohol contributed to the crash, but it did appear to be a result of distracted driving. The driver was a 24-year-old woman who lives in North Olmsted.
She was charged with Full Time and Attention (LCO 331.34) and released on the scene with a ticket.
Once the gas supply to the home was turned off, residents were allowed back into their homes.
Fortunately no injuries were reported inside the vehicle or the home.
