Cleveland police identified the victim in Friday night's shooting death as 23-year-old Davante R. McLean.
Officers are investigating whether there is a connection between the shooting death of McLean on Cedar Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. and shots that were fired into a home on Golden Avenue around the same time.
McLean was shot multiple times near East 80th Street and Cedar Avenue.
Police said preliminary information indicates that a person or several people fired the shots from a vehicle.
EMS transported McLean to University Hospitals, where he was pronounced dead.
At around the same time a 2-year old was bruised on her chest after shots were fired into a home at 7920 Golden Avenue, police reported.
Preliminary information indicates that a round of fire entered an upstairs window of the home and broke the glass.
The girl was taken to Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital.
