Firefighters were busy Monday morning responding to a fire at a Broadview Heights condominium complex.
Smoke billowed from the roof of the condos located on the 8600 block of Scenicview Drive.
Displaced residents stood in front of the burning building as crews tried to contain the fire.
One resident who lived on the first floor of the building learned about the fire as he pulled up to his building.
Anthony Latona, who was getting ready, heard the smoke alarms go off. He saw the smoke billow out of the hallways, which is when he grabbed his cat and started knocking on nearby residences.
"Everything is gone. Within minutes the whole building was in flames," Latona said.
Broadview Heights Fire Chief Jeffrey Hajek said firefighters searched all the rooms several times and found no residents inside.
Broadview Heights dispatch confirmed there was no one transported to the hospital.
Firefighters from Seven Hills, North Royalton and Brecksville assisted crews with putting out the fire.
