Police look for clues after dog is shot, skinned in Parma

Posted

Parma Police and Animal Control are looking for clues into a gruesome discovery found in an alley behind a shopping plaza on Monday.

Officials said a dog was found shot and skinned. A caller led investigators to the area. Parma Animal Control Officer Julie Kocik said when she arrived the animal was in a dumpster. "In my 26 years, I've never seen anything like this," said Kocik.

Officials said the dog was a female, about a year old and weighed 17 pounds.

They are looking into all lost and missing dogs in the area. They are also reviewing surveillance video hoping for clues that will led them to the person responsible.

"If they are capable of doing that to an animal. What could they do to a human?," said Kocik.
