A professor from West Chester, Pa., traveled to Orange Village to visit family over the holiday weekend but was reported missing after his family said he never showed up to Thanksgiving dinner.

Thomas Short Jr. arrived in Orange Village sometime around Nov. 18, but he failed to show up for Thanksgiving dinner at his parent's home in Beachwood, according to Orange Village police.

His sister, Amy Beltano, said she found his car, suitcase and phone at the hotel where he was registered in Orange Village, but he never picked up the key to his room.

When he arrived in the Beachwood area, he never contacted his children, his siblings or parents, according to Beltano.

Police said there is no evidence of foul play, but Short may have been depressed about personal matters.

Short, who is currently an associate professor of math at West Chester University, is also a former professor at John Carroll University and has friends in the area.

After learning of his disappearance, the university released the following statement:

Short is described as 6 foot and 1, with blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white baseball hat, dark blue sweater and blue jeans.

Anyone that has any information about Short's whereabouts, please contact the Orange Village Police Department at 440-247-7321.
