Three people were taken to the hospital early Sunday morning after a three vehicle accident involving construction vehicles caused a car to flip at Interstate 90 and East 55th Street, according to Cleveland police.
The accident happened around 5 a.m.
The Ohio Department of Transportation said a contractor for ODOT was stripping paint on ramps between East 55th Street and East 72nd Street when the truck was hit from behind. The contractor was taken to the hospital, checked for injuries and released.
ODOT says all warning lights were operational while the contractor crew was sitting on the right shoulder waiting for other crews t return from East 72nd Street.
Emergency Medical Services confirm one person was taken to MetroHealth and two others were taken to University Hospital with minor injuries.
A News 5 crew on scene says two of the vehicles involved were work-related and were damaged in the accident.
