EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — East Cleveland residents have submitted pictures they believe show the suspects responsible for the theft of sandstone steps from the porches of dozens of homes in recent months.

Rutheria Tucker told News 5 she's one of the latest victims of the sandstone bandits, who severely damaged her family home of 50 years.

Her family and friends took pictures of the white dual cab truck and the trailer they said was used to haul away the sandstone steps.

Residents said the pictures submitted to News 5 showed license plate numbers of the alleged vehicles used in the thefts, pictures they said were given to East Cleveland Police.

"I never thought they would steal the steps and the banisters." Tucker said.

"Oh I feel terrible about that because their stones were real big, real heavy, and you know it meant a lot to the house."

Tucker told News 5 she's hoping police will soon have an update on the case and the men responsible for causing thousands in damage to her home arrested and convicted.

"I was just wondering about the way East Cleveland treats you when something like this happens, Tucker said. "They don't call you."

News 5 called East Cleveland police multiple times for an update on their investigation, but so far we've not been given any information.

Meanwhile residents like Juanita Gowdy, who had several houses in her neighborhood vandalized, believes the suspects have plenty of experience.

"Whoever is doing it, had to be somebody who knows what they're doing, because this is not an amateur," Gowdy said.
