PARMA, Ohio — The Parma Fire Department, assisted by the Parma Heights Fire Department, put out an apartment fire at a complex Sunday.

Firefighters responded to the 6000 block of Stumph Road around 4 p.m. The fire was able to be confined to the apartment unit it originated from, authorities said.

“The first arriving companies experienced harsh interior conditions and worked tirelessly to ensure that all the residents were evacuated rapidly while battling the stubborn fire,” Fire Chief Michael Lasky said.

One resident was injured in the fire and was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center. The condition of the individual is unknown at this time.

The cause and origin of the fire are unavailable at this time, according to firefighters.
