Garfield Heights man dies nearly a week after being shot

A man who was shot last week in Cleveland died from his injuries Tuesday. 

Alan Talbert, 21, of Garfield Heights, died at MetroHealth Medical Center following a shooting in the 8000 block of Grand Division, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

Talbert was found lying in the front yard of a home Feb. 17 at 8:05 p.m. after he was shot in the stomach and to his leg, according to a Cleveland police report. 

His death is the city's 16th homicide. 

Several witnesses told police a white SUV was seen speeding away from the scene after five or six gunshots were heard. One witness described hearing the shooting as "a clip being emptied." 

A witness said they could Talbert limping and immediately falling down, the report said. 

Moments before the shooting were captured on a home surveillance camera. 

The video showed a Talbert walking on Grand Division at 7:52 p.m. About a minute later, a white SUV can be seen traveling slowly and occasionally stopping at houses before speeding off on Grand Divison, the report said.
