Nearly a million-dollar grant was awarded to a local agency that helps victims and survivors of human trafficking.
The Renee Jones Empowerment Center expanded recently to include the Northeast Ohio Law Clinic.
Now, it plans to hire social workers and more attorneys to help victims at the center.
“Something as simple as getting an ID, something as complex as getting child custody,” said Renee Jones, President of the Renee Jones Empowerment Center & NEO Human Trafficking Law Clinic.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s office awarded the center a $936,137 grant.
