A man died in the hospital after he was shot inside of his home on Cleveland’s East Side on Friday evening, according to police.
Police responded to the 13000 block of Durkee Avenue in Cleveland’s Corlett neighborhood around 6 p.m. Officers arrived on the scene to find a 41-year-old victim who had suffered a gunshot wound to his torso, according to police.
The victim was taken to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Emergency Room where he later died from his injuries, police said.
The victim’s neighbor told police he heard gunshots and saw the victim’s door was open. The neighbor went to check on the victim when he discovered he had been shot. The victim asked his neighbor to call 911, according to authorities.
The incident is under investigation and no suspects have been identified at this time.
