A man walking on the Norfolk Southern railroad track near West 95th Street was hit from behind by a train and killed Tuesday morning.

It happened around 9 a.m., according to Cleveland police.

Officers say the conductor applied brakes and used the train horn to warn the man that the train was approaching, but he did not react.

The victim is an unidentified Hispanic man in his 50s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office is working to identify the victim.
