SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio — Police are investigating a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Shaker Heights Thursday afternoon.
According to the Shaker Heights Fire Department, a man was struck by a vehicle on Lomond Road near Lomond Elementary School.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition, authorities said.
The vehicle is believed to be part of an after-school school program, unrelated to the actual school district, authorities said.
The Shaker Heights School District released the following statement:
The District has been made aware of a vehicle accident near Lomond Elementary School. The accident is not related to school operations and there is no safety issue with students and staff. We do not expect any interruptions for students returning home on buses.
