A 22-year-old man was arrested by police in Westlake on Thursday after they realized he wasn't really visiting his nana's house like he claimed.

According to officers, they noticed Phillip Rodgers had pulled into a driveway around 2:30 a.m. and never got out of the car, so they went over to check on him. He allegedly told them that he was visiting his nana's house, but then admitted that wasn't true.

From there, they discovered he had a suspended license and was in possession of several jars of marijuana along with a scale, new baggies, and other drug paraphernalia.

Rodgers then claimed the drugs belonged to the owner of the car, who happened to be incarcerated for an unknown crime.

Officers didn't buy the story and charged him for driving under suspension as well as trafficking in drugs and possession of criminal tools.
