PARMA, Ohio — Beer lovers rejoice! The owner of Das Schnitzel Haus is expanding his business with a microbrewery.
Last week, owner Igor Djurin received final approval from the city for his plans.
Schnitz Ale Brewery, 5728 Pearl Road, will be located across from Das Schnitzel Haus. It should be operational by the end of the year, Djurin said.
“We’re from Stuttgart (Germany), we lived there for many years, and it’s always been our dream to create the German experience here.”
The brewery will offer smaller plates, homemade sausages and a variety of mustard. The brewery's goal is to produce 360,000 gallons of beer per year.
The plan to build a brewery comes as the Schnitzel Haus has reached its capacity. The brewery will provide extra room for larger parties and catering. The construction will happen in two phases, with the first part opening in the fall.
