A suspect is in custody in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found near abandoned buildings in East Cleveland over the weekend.

The body of 17-year-old Breanna Nicole Fluitt was found Saturday on 1st Avenue.

East Cleveland police confirmed to newsnet5.com on Tuesday that Jesean Woods,19, had been arrested on a warrant for aggravated murder.

Woods was discovered at the home of a relative on E. 115th street and after a brief stand off was taken into custody.

Newsnet5.com was the only crew on the scene as police removed several bags of evidence from the home.

According to court records, Woods has a history of aggravated robbery and felonious assault charges.

"Whenever we have a tragedy such as this, investigators try to work to the brink of exhaustion in an attempt to try to bring some closure to the case," Lt. Ray Steadman told newsnet5.com.

Fuitt's family members told newsnet5.com they're planning a vigil for Thursday and are currently trying to raise funds for Fuitt's funeral expenses
