PHOTOS: Fire breaks out at The Shoppes at Parma

Firefighters battled a blaze at The Shoppes at Parma Monday.

The fire broke out at the former Parmatown Mall off Ridgewood Drive around 11:20 a.m.

Responding crews saw flames shooting from the roof.

According to the Parma Fire Department, the fire was started by construction workers who were cutting material on the roof.

Brooklyn and Parma Heights firefighters were called to assist.

Approximately 30 firefighters ultimately put out the flames. 

No injuries were reported.

The fire was located in a section of the former Parmatown mall that is under construction.
