Police are looking for a trio of would-be robbers who left empty-handed after a failed jewelry heist in Strongsville on Wednesday night.

The attempted robbery happened at Jared The Galleria of Jewelry, 16760 Royalton Road, around 7 p.m. on Dec. 20.

According to authorities, three men with their faces covered, wearing hooded jackets, walked into the store carrying guns and a sledgehammer.

The men left the store without taking any merchandise, police said. Authorities arrived shortly after and searched the area with a K9 unit but were unable to find them.

Police said no one was injured.
