A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the death of his girlfriend's 2-year-old son in Cleveland.
Cleveland police were called Sunday to a home in the 4600 block of E. 173rd Street for a report of a small child suffering from blunt force trauma to the head, according to a news release.
The child was taken to University Hospital where it was determined he was brain dead.
On Wednesday, police arrested Terrell Dontay Willis, who was with the child at the time of the incident. Willis, 25, told police that the child had fallen and hit its head, the release said.
Willis is the boyfriend of the child's mother. He was arrested at the hospital.
The child suffered multiple internal injuries along with head trauma.
Police are now investigating the boy's death as a homicide.
