A Shaker Heights Middle School employee is on paid administrative leave while police investigate an alleged assault of a student.
Shaker Heights police responded to University Hospitals on Monday around 4:15 p.m. where a mother said her son was assaulted while at the school.
In a statement, Shaker Heights School District officials said an employee is now on leave.

"A Shaker Heights Middle School employee has been placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of an investigation by law enforcement.
"We are committed to ensuring our students' safety and we will continue to cooperate with law enforcement."
The investigation is ongoing.
