A suspect in one of the recent carjackings in Lakewood was arrested after fleeing from police and crashing the stolen car Thursday night.

A warrant was issued for 24-year-old Fraiser G.L. Turner, of Cleveland, after he allegedly took a Nissan Xterra at gunpoint from a woman near The Drake Apartments on the 11800 block of Clifton Boulevard Tuesday night.

Bratenhal officers spotted the stolen car started following it. After a short pursuit, Turner crashed the Nissan into a pole near East 105th Street and St. Clair Avenue.

Body and dashcam footage showed the Nissan fleeing from authorities before it hits the pole, completely breaking it in half. When the car finally stopped, Turner bailed out and ran from officers.

Police chased Turner a short distance before catching him behind a nearby building.

Turner was arrested and then transported to Cuyahoga County Jail.

HIs arrest comes after a series of carjacking across Lakewood in the past week.

Police are still looking for the suspects in the other two carjackings.
