Two men were arrested Wednesday morning after leading police on a short chase in a stolen U-Haul box truck, authorities confirmed.
Deshaun Scott, 34, and Marvin Robinson, 23, were both charged with receiving stolen property.
Officers said they spotted a U-Haul without headlights near East 55th Street and Harvard Avenue. They said they observed someone inside toss a beer bottle out of the truck's window. Officers initiated a traffic stop, but the driver sped off.
Police said they chased the truck for several minutes before the truck's driver crashed the vehicle into a nearby garage.
Authorities said the truck's ignition system had been tampered with. Authorities are investigating the truck to determine if it was used in a recent smash and grab.
