Cleveland is ranked second to last in a newly released "Happiest Cities" list by WalletHub.

The persona finance company based in Washington D.C. ranked Cleveland just above Detroit in a list of 150 cities.

The rankings are grouped into three categories that included:

  • emotional and physical well-being
  • income and employment and community and environment
  • as work hours, depression, obesity and sleep.

Cali has the edge

California cities took eight of the first 10 spots on the list. The first five "Happiest Cities" are:

  1. Fremont, California
  2. San Jose, California
  3. Irvine, California
  4. San Francisco, California
  5. Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Sioux Falls, South Dakota? Really?

Ohio had two of the least "Happiest Cities." The most joyless cities are:

  1. Detroit, Michigan
  2. Cleveland, Ohio
  3. Augusta, Georgia
  4. Birmingham, Alabama
  5. Toledo, Ohio
