CLEVELAND — The City of Cleveland has been selected by Feeding America as one of the cities to test a new pilot program to fight hunger.

Feeding America will announce a $1 million pledge to the national "Ending Hunger" program. The news conference was scheduled for 10:30 a.m., which will be followed by a panel discussion of community leaders.

The Household Empowerment Pilot for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank (GCFB) aims to support working families facing hunger. The GCFB was selected through a competition process to host the pilot program.
