OK, so police receive a lot of random calls, but this call to Westlake police made them paws.
On Nov. 2, a woman contacted the police department to report that she nearly struck a large animal. Not a deer, or a dog, but a mountain lion.
In Westlake.
The woman told police that she nearly struck the giant feline as it walked across Crocker Road between Center Ridge and Lorain roads.
Both Westlake and North Olmsted police officers combed the area for the elusive cat, but they didn't locate any "roaming animals."
