Police are investigating a homicide in Vermilion Township.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. Sunday morning, Huron Police arrested 22-year-old Ian Carl Seckt at his house on two outstanding warrants. Seckt's family members told police that he had just come from the home of 58-year-old David Jr. Quint and asked that police check on Quint.

When they arrived, police found Quint dead inside his home and determined it was a homicide from evidence at the scene.

Police say Seckt admitted that he was responsible for Quint's death. He was jailed for the outstanding warrants (that were issued from property crimes committed against Quint). He was also charged with murder in Quint's death.

Seckt will remain in custody at the Erie County Jail pending his arraignment on the murder charge in the Vermilion Municipal Court.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in processing the crime scene.
