GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Geauga County.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on State Route 168 at State Route 700.
Troopers said John Saffer, 59, was driving a 2007 black Pontiac G7 south on State Route 168.
Saffer traveled left of the center line and hit a white 2015 Subaru Forester that was driving north on State Route 168.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Subaru Forester, 63-year-old Gustave Dasch Jr., was transported to University Geauga Medical Center and died during the transport.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
